Trip Update

Well, this trip seems to have taken on a life of it's own. It's all so very exciting!

Now the trip is Barcelona, Venice, Florence, Rome, Naples, Amalfi Coast and Capri, Casablanca, Marrakesh, Fez, Lisbon, Faro, Seville, Malaga and then London.

Any tips from you Europeans on what to see?

As much as you can silly!
You must walk around Rome. It is really quite compact and it is the best way to see it.
Venice - make sure you go off the main thoroughfares an explore some of the quieter backstreets
I wish I could join in your other Italian destinations as I have never been to them.
I am not too sure about Malaga. Whenever I have been in the South I try to get into the foothills and away from the coast as soon as possible because it is just like a little Britain away from home :-(

Sad to say - I've not been to many of your destinations. I went to Rome on business once - for a day!

Barcelona. The cathedral is brilliant I've heard. Also you have to search out but there are some great bars where you can find flemenco guitarists / dancers - not the tourist ones but people for who it is their life and passion.

London - if you are into art go to the National Gallery and also the Tate Modern as a contrast. Hyde Park - there are little cafe places - buy a coffee and a sandwich and watch London at rest / play in the park.

I know you're going to see many wondrous things - so I'm going to give you a shallow but fun tip. Barcelona - find the Mango OUTLET store. I came upon it by accident - and it didn't matter that I had been holding my pee for 2 hours, I was starving and grumpy and tired from walking all day. Thank god for understanding husbands. :)

From my one European trip. . . wear comfy shoes, dress in layers, get lots of rest BEFORE you leave and lots of water everyday. You can't see it all, so relax and really BE where ever you are so you can soak it up and truly enjoy!
